The AAAAI represents allergists, asthma specialists, clinical immunologists, allied health professionals and others with a special interest in the research and treatment of allergic and immunologic diseases. Established in 1943, the AAAAI has nearly 6,500 members in the United States, Canada and 60 other
countries.
This year’s Presidential Plenary, Next Generation Science, offered a unique learning experience. This Plenary that took place on Saturday, March 3, showcased outstanding research findings from young researchers in allergy and immunology. On Saturday, the keynote entitled Hard Knocks: Communicating Science to the Public was presented by Dr. Paul Offit. Dr. Offit, co-inventor of the rotavirus vaccine, and internationally known for his efforts to correct public misconceptions relating immunizations to autism.
The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Congress 2012 will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, 16 - 20 June 2012. The theme of the Congress, “At the Crossroads of Research, Practice and Education”, emphasises Geneva’s specificities and will contribute to excellent scientific exchanges between all participants: faculty members, delegates and exhibitors. The Local Organising Committee, which includes members of all major Swiss allergy centers, as well as the EAACI Scientific Committee under the lead of Lars K. Poulsen, has established a programme that aims to meet the expectations of all researchers, practicing allergists, as well as educators.
The 2012 HAE Global Conference will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, 17 - 20 May 2012. The conference is organized by the International Patient Organization for C1 Inhibitor Deficiencies (HAEi). The conference is the first true global conference for HAE patients, care givers, health care professionals and industry representatives conducted and driven by the patient community through HAEi.
The 2nd Congress of the Romanian Allergology and Clinical Imunology Society will be held between 6-8th May 2011, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The Congress is organized under the patronage of the Romanian Allergology and Clinical Imunology Society.
The EAACI Congress 2011 will be held in Istanbul 11 - 15 June 2011. A highly interesting Scientific Programme has been developed by the Scientific Programme Committee and the Local Organising Committee, according to the proposals of many EAACI members.
The 22nd World Allergy Congress is the biennial scientific meeting of the World Allergy Organization (WAO) which will take place in Cancun, Mexico, 4-8 December 2011. As a global alliance of national and regional allergy, asthma and clinical immunology societies, WAO proudly partners with its member societies to host its biennial Congress. In 2011, WAO and its World Allergy Congress will also be host to the annual meetings of the Mexican College of Pediatricians Specialized in Allergy and Clinical Immunology (COMPEDIA) and the Mexican College of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (CMICA). 
Colleagues, students, and representatives of pharmaceutical companies involved in the therapy or research of C1-inhibitor deficiency and hereditary angioedema are expected to attend from all over the world. Patients with hereditary angioedema, who wish to know or present novelties and new results in this area are also welcome. Similar to the previous six meetings held in Hungary, the aim of this conference is to enhance clinical research and pharmaceutical development by relying on the latest results, and to help the global introduction of standardized diagnostic and therapeutic methods.
